Wind turbines are valuable equipment for wind farms and their prices account for more than 60% of wind power project investment. If it’s struck by lightning (especially hit on blades and generators ), it will cause huge cost for its maintenance, such as dismounting work, part or assembly replacement, electric system overhaul time, new part ordering and transportation etc. even not including the loss of profit from normal operation.
